The Cloak Of Invisibility

By sbudman

I’m chasing a story today that, even if we’re successful, you won’t be able to see.  A TV faux pas, you say?  Maybe, but even the early reports about this one are enough to make Harry Potter jealous.

Scientists, including some at UC Berkeley, say they’re closer to developing a cloak of invisibility.  Sort of.  Like most science, this is in the early stages, but nanotechnology is allowing the scientists to cloak three-dimensional objects.

They’re now a bit closer to actually hiding things (and while they’re at it, people) from visible light.  Lots of potential applications for this, especially military.

We’ll let you know if we can make anything visible, tonight at 6.
